The Velocity Technology Solutions SAP LoB team recently returned from SAPPHIRE NOW and ASUG Annual Conference in Orlando, Florida. Twelve Velocity team members engaged with 480 different attendees and speakers on the exhibit floor. Many of those conversations have  advanced to talks around engaging Velocity for their SAP needs.

At the Velocity booth

One of the hottest topics during SAPPHIRE was the migration to SAP HANA® and the lighting fast in-memory capabilities of S4/HANA. Velocity’s booth displayed just that message: “Race to the cloud, journey to SAP HANA®.”

We spoke with dozens of companies about their roadmap to SAP HANA® and encouraged selected candidates to take advantage of our “Free 2-Day HANA Compass” engagement offer. To learn more about this offer, contact us here.

Zoom demos

On large monitors in our booth, the Velocity team gave numerous Velocity Zoom® demos and discussed the differences between SAP BI and SAP HANA for application analytics and the capabilities of Zoom.

Attendees were intrigued by Velocity’s capability to display data on the user level with Zoom. They also saw the advantage of having access to existing Zoom data for peer analysis within their industry and applications.

At the Microforums

Ralf Suerken, VP of Velocity’s SAP Line of Business joined Todd Briley, VP of Customer Program Management to host a Microforum in the Technology Center. Microforums are “fireside chat” format discussions inside of small, circular seating areas located across the exhibit hall. Unplugged, Briley and Suerken spoke to attendees about “Transforming Your Software Implementation from Chaos to a Steady State.”

The keys to steady state, explained Suerken, are governance and communication. And steady state planning done right should begin very early on, during contract negotiation with partners.

More than just a watch drawing

Each day two watch drawings were held, drawing crowds of 60-100 attendees at a time. Winners could choose from an Apple or Android watch. The watch drawing was not only a fun event to draw a crowd; Velocity is today continuing conversations with those watch winners about their application management, hosting and analytics needs. At least one appointment already has been set for Velocity SAP experts to continue conversations with a watch winner.

The entire Velocity SAP team considered this year’s SAPPHIRE NOW and ASUG Annual Conference experience a huge success and has been one of the most successful events attended by Velocity this year in terms of creating new lead and opportunities. We had a great time talking to and engaging with all of the attendees and look forward to doing it again next year!
